Watching the World Move
Playa El Saltito, Baja California Sur, México 🇲🇽
And I could have sat for hours watching the world move
I could have been in complete stillness, in absolute reverie of Presence until long after night fell & sun dawned a new day
There was no grandiosity to speak of, save for everyday luxuries like warmth, the shining of the sun, the sound of waves falling, & the other subtleties of life we often overlook or are too numb to feel
Becoming engrossed by the simple intricacies of life can lull us into rapture. It’s how we can relearn what it means to be alive – by noticing and becoming enthralled by it all
Some call it meditation or mindfulness
I call it living life alive
It’s a state of homeostasis, of Oneness achieved when we fall deeply into ourselves. It’s reached when we’ve cleared out the fog & lifted through the bog that are the demands of life
I found it here as I smoothly hugged the curves of the dusty roads that lay beside the Mexican desert. The mountains welcomed me with their hugeness, the cactus towered above, & the Sea of Cortez glistened below, sparkling in all of her impossible hues.
The exodus from the city paved the way to release obligations I had not yet let go of. Such distance created the space for me to do so. It was the extravagant beauty, whilst being enveloped in simple comforts that pushed me over the edge
I crested the mountain top, rounded her edge, and I saw her sprawled out before me. She was too much for me to behold. The sight was too beautiful, it brought me to my knees. As I let it all go, I filled myself with her, her beauty & brilliance.
The tide of emotions ebbed and cleared me so deeply, an all-consuming soothing ensued. Coating my body & soul in an impenetrable peace and feeling of pure contentment
It is through this clearing that I came back to Center
It’s here where we can find peace & bliss in sitting in total stillness
And then we can sit with the world forever, watching her move one intricate moment at a time
