Para y toma el mate

Stop & drink the mate

A ubiquitous, age-old reminder that encourages us to smell the flowers

to breathe in our surroundings

to not let the moment be taken by the wind.

Words of wisdom well-known, yet seldom heeded

Why do so many of us rush when we have no place to be?

Why can we easily match the pace of life when it accelerates, yet can be entirely incapable of slowing to match its cadence?

Why does our heart & mind keep racing long after the race has been run, the to-do list done, the destination reached?

There’s a time to hasten, but how often do we hurry when there is no need?

The panicked impulse to keep moving, launches us forward, often out of habit, not need. Like a phantom ticking clock, we feel the urgency deep within, urging us forward, hurling us through life, tossing aside the most precious of moments, blurring the most beautiful of views.

To blindly succumb to rush is to let ourselves be robbed of life. We need only ask curious questions to know when there's

a time to run

a time to walk

a time to be still

And that there's always time to drink mate 🧉
