Life in Color
Tolhuin, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina
Life is nothing without emotions
They are what give life its vitality, its beating pulse.
Without them, the world is stagnant, unmoving, muted and gray
It’s what creates the vibrant {and sometimes violent} hues of an experience
It’s what brings vigor into the body, breathing air into our existence. It paints pigments into the world and beyond
It’s the intensity of colors that halt us mid-step and makes us see the miracle that is life
Yet, it’s that exact intensity that leads us to curse existence. It can feel too much. It can feel more painful than a wound afflicted onto our physical flesh. It can feel mortal
But there’s something about emotions that few know & fewer speak of
When we surrender to the body as it’s overcome with sensations, while we initially feel great pain & insurmountable discomfort, if we learn to spin in its spiral & flow with its movement, we learn how to let the wave that once drowned us carry us effortlessly
We feel emotions quickly shape-shift from one to the next, until they seemingly blend into one another, sometimes indiscernible from another
Fury feels like power, sorrow feels like remembering a treasured love with fondness, & worry feels like humming excitement
It is then that we push past their once unbearable intensity & feel them for what they really are:
Pure energy
That energy is what makes us feel alive✨️
