Heart Wide Open
And for this new year of being, I choose not to live by a list of goals, but to live with an open heart
The rest will fall into place
To love is to receive the simplest of moments as the greatest gifts
To love is to give gratitude to that which we already have, which will shower us with even more.
Love turns everything into magic
The success, the goals, the status we chase are as fleeting as the colors in the shifting sky. They go as swiftly and magnificently as they came. Leaving us empty and yearning for more.
Love makes it last an eternity.
Our outward desires mean nothing if we haven’t a heart that is open to receive. It all comes from love, or else an abysmal attempt to fill it. It is only through love we can receive. When the heart is closed, we attempt to fill the emptiness, not understanding we’ve sealed shut its opening. It is in opening the heart space that we let it all in and let it all come unto and into us.
It means we must pour love so generously into ourselves that it steadily flows forth from us.
To the people we speak to. The hearts we touch, to the hands we graze.
It’s not easy. I’m far from always being successful. I miss the mark entirely at times.
Life is tumultuous. Humans, tempestuous. There are some wounds that run so deep, that time cannot mend.
To love in a world like we have today is a revolutionary act.
To love is to bring a steadying back to the violent swinging of the pendulum.
To love is to play with life instead of becoming a standerby.
We can choose to become enslaved by our unpredictable fate
We can choose to hate, judge, and derision
Or we can choose love in spite of it all.
To love is to open back up the hole we closed off, so that we can actually fill it with what holds real value for us.
To love is to heal any wounds of inadequacy.
To love is to expand.
To love is to choose life
All else will fall into place.
